The Cops on Top/FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN
2002-2003 Memorial Expeditions

On September 11, 2002, individual synchronized teams of Cops on Top climbers, in conjunction with climbers from our sister team, Fire on the Mountain, will attempt to summit the highest points of America’s Western States.  These states contain the 12 highest “High Points” of the 50 United States and are overshadowed only by Alaska’s 20,320 foot summit, Denali, better know as Mount McKinley, the highest point in all of North America.

Your help is needed for Cops on Top to reach our ultimate goal in 2003 of placing a team of climbers on the summit of the highest point of all 50 States, all on the same day!  It is a feat that has never before been attempted.  Cops on Top hopes that this small show of effort will in some way honor the lives of those Police and Firefighters who have sacrificed their lives in service of their fellow citizens, especially those whose lives were so prematurely ended during the terrorist attacks on New York City on September 11, 2001.  In addition, it is our sincerest desire that our efforts may somehow ease the healing process of the families and co-workers of those we attempt to honor.
